Atlas Nurses Mental Health 2007
Atlas: Nurses in Mental Health 2007 is the latest addition to the Atlas series of publications of the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse of the World Health Organization (WHO).
Project Atlas is aimed at the collection, compilation and dissemination of relevant global information on mental health resources at national level.
Although Mental Health Atlas 2005 contains some basic information on mental health nurses, much more comprehensive information was needed in order to help low and middle income countries evaluate and improve the substantial role of nurses in mental health care. The present report attempts to fi ll this gap.
WHO has worked very closely with the International Council of Nurses (ICN) in collecting the information and preparing this new Atlas.
